WASTE WARRIORS TERRIGAL - Our history
WASTE WARRIORS TERRIGAL was established after Clean Up Australia
Day 2006, when a group of volunteers decided that we needed to clean up our local area more
regularly than once a year.
It was agreed that we would meet on the last Sunday of each month to clean up - now called
WASTE WARRIORS's Sunday
It is our vision that WASTE WARRIORS will spread throughout the world. i.e. the
last Sunday of each month is WASTE WARRIORS' Sunday when people of
goodwill pick up rubbish, spread good cheer and help one another as a small step towards
promoting World Peace.
If we can do it for one day each month then there will be no problem with the remainder of the
days!
Come and join us by starting your own WASTE WARRIORS group in your local
area! It's fun! All ages welcome! Please bring gloves and water. Note: you only need to stay as
long as you are able. Hi-visibility vests, pick up sticks and WASTE WARRIORS re-
useable bags are available while working. For more information send Alison an email
During the month (when "off duty"!) WASTE WARRIORS also clean wherever
they walk. Note: We always use gloves. WASTE WARRIORS re-cycle aluminium
cans for charity. Where physically possible we also recycle glass and plastic bottles in local
residents' recycling bins (with their prior consent). WASTE WARRIORS
co-operate with their Council and report any work which needs to be done in the local area e.g.
graffiti cleaning, vandal repairs, signs required (e.g. No alcohol, Please don't litter) etc.
